Using Lay Language
In your OET speaking role play, you'll be required to use lay language with your patients. You may know the medical and technical words connected to their complaint, but they won't necessarily, so you'll have to explain procedures, diagnosis, prognosis etc to them using everyday language.
It's a good idea to create a bank of common procedures and know how to explain them. In our latest video, we'll take a look at how to explain a cannula to a patient.
